A woman was assaulted near a business on South Jennings Street on Wednesday morning, and a suspect was arrested, according to Fort Worth police.

Police were called to the 900 block of S. Jennings, on the city’s near south side, about 8:45 a.m.

A 911 caller reported that a man was “jumping” on a woman’s head near the dumpsters behind a business, according to the call log.

When officers arrived, they found and detained the suspect in the attack, a police spokesperson said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, according to police.

The suspect, identified in jail records as 47-year-old Steven Joseph Black, was initially arrested at the scene on unrelated outstanding warrants. Jail records show he now faces a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
