A 15-year-old girl was shot and injured during what police called “a possible home invasion” late Wednesday in south Fort Worth.

Officers responded to the 8600 block of Prairie Wind Trail shortly after 9 p.m. after someone called 911 to report the shooting, police said. The wounded teen was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police at the scene told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that several teenage boys showed up at the door. There was an argument, which escalated into a fight. Someone pulled out a gun and started shooting.

The 15-year-old victim was struck by gunfire and also pistol whipped, WFAA reported.

Police questioned several of the teens who were present during the shooting, but no arrests have been announced.
