The North Richland Hills Police Department arrested a man who crashed his car into an apartment building on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a call about the crash about 12:15 p.m. in the 7700 block of College Circle.

Police say the small SUV first crashed into several parked cars after turning from Davis Boulevard onto College Circle and the man tried to keep driving.

It was then, police say, the SUV collided with one of the apartments in a building along the road. The apartment was vacant at the time of the crash.

The man was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was later taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Police say the man was the only person in the SUV and the apartment building sustained no significant structural damage.
