Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback arrested, charged in fatal Richardson crash
A former Dallas Cowboys cornerback has been arrested in a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist early Saturday in Richardson, police said in a statement on Facebook.
Richardson police officers responded to the scene in the 2400 block of northbound North Central Expressway just before 5 a.m., according to the Facebook post. The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old Plano woman named Cody Morris, was pronounced dead at the scene and no other people or vehicles were located, police said.
At 5:39 a.m., Richardson police received a call from 25-year-old Allen resident Kelvin Joseph Jr., who said he had been involved in the crash, according to the Facebook post. Police confirmed Joseph had been driving northbound on U.S. Highway 75 in a BMW sedan when he was involved in the crash, officials said. While speaking to Joseph, officers observed signs of intoxication.
Joseph has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and collision involving personal injury or death, police said.
Joseph was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and played for the team until 2022, according to the NFL.
