A man was killed Friday afternoon after crashing a stolen motorcycle in northeast Grand Prairie, police said.

An officer tried to pull a motorcycle over about 4 p.m. after noticing that the Harley-Davidson didn’t have a license plate. The driver sped away, police said, but crashed at South Belt Line Road and Wheat Hill Drive after failing to negotiate a curve.

The motorcyclist died from his injuries at a hospital. He will be publicly identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner.

The Harley-Davidson was stolen, according to police. Officers also found a quantity of drugs along with the motorcycle.

The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, police said.
