Two Dallas police officers were injured and a teenager in a stolen car was killed in a crash during a police chase early Friday morning, according to the Dallas Police Department.

About 2 a.m. Friday, a squad car with two officers collided head-on with a suspected stolen car with three people inside, Dallas police said in a news release.

Officers were responding to a 911 call reporting a carjacking robbery in North Dallas about 20 minutes earlier.

The caller reported three teenagers stole the victim’s car at gunpoint, the news release states. Police called for backup when they found the car near Northwest Highway. That’s where one of the squad cars was involved in a crash with the stolen car, police said.

All five people involved in the car accident were injured, including one suspect who died at the hospital, Dallas police said. One of the teens who remains hospitalized was critically injured.

Both officers were taken to a hospital but have been treated and released.

The names of the suspects have not be released because they are juveniles.
