A 34-year-old man was shot to death early Friday outside a house in north Fort Worth after an argument, police said.

Adam Goins and the suspect were involved in an argument in the 11200 block of Golden Triangle Circle that was settled down by other people, authorities said.

The suspect retrieved a rifle from a vehicle, returned to the group and shot Goins in the chest about 2 a.m., authorities said.

The suspect left before an officer arrived at the homicide scene, and Fort Worth police did not announce an arrest Friday.

Goins was pronounced dead in the back yard, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
