Fort Worth police arrested a man May 1 in connection to a dog fighting investigation, according to an online incident report.

The suspect, 46-year-old Toboo Washington, has been charged with 16 felony counts of cruelty to a non-livestock animal, according to Tarrant County court records.

Police seized several dogs, treadmills, livestock vitamins, heavy chains, tires and metal poles from Washington’s residence in the 4800 block of Tallman Street in south Fort Worth, according to a list of evidence in the case.

The investigation into the alleged dog fighting began in late March, when police and Fort Worth Animal Control seized the animals and equipment, according to the criminal complaint and police report.

Washington was released from jail on bond. The conditions of his bond include not possessing any animals.
