Man shot multiple times in north Fort Worth; SWAT arrests suspect

A man was shot multiple times in north Fort Worth and taken to the hospital early Sunday morning. A suspect was arrested by a SWAT team, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of North Terry Street about 2 a.m., police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times in the back.

The victim is seriously injured, a MedStar spokesperson said.

Around 8 a.m. the SWAT team arrived on scene and a person of interest was taken into custody, police said.

The suspect, Mauricie Castandeda, 46, was arrested and faces a charge of aggravated assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.

Gun violence detectives were notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, police said.
