Multiple SWAT units responded to a north Fort Worth home Saturday after hearing reports that a wanted man barricaded himself inside and refused to come out, police said.

More than 15 SWAT units were dispatched to the 1700 block of Grand Avenue starting about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, according to the 911 call sheet.

Patrol officers initially responded to the residence to try to arrest a suspect wanted on charges of aggravated assault and robbery. Multiple people were inside the house and refused to come out, police said. The officers believed the man they were looking for was one of the people inside.

The SWAT officers loudly hailed the suspect and called the people outside who had refused to come out earlier. After officers had been outside the house for several hours, they discovered the suspect had escaped before SWAT arrived, according to police.

No injuries were reported from the incident, police said, and no arrests were made.
