Police investigating fatal shooting of father in south Fort Worth in March 2024

Police in Fort Worth are investigating the unsolved killing of a 43-year-old man who was shot in March 2024.

Bobby Head, also known as “Bob,” was found dead in south Fort Worth near the Interstate 35W and Interstate 20 connector, police said.

Head, who was experiencing homelessness, was last heard from on March 19, 2024, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the victim was killed by a gunshot wound to the head and ruled the manner of his death as homicide.

Head was a plumber and moved up the ranks to superintendent. He was a father, son, brother and a friend who loved fishing, animals, and his family and friends, relatives wrote in an obituary.

“His smile was contagious. He was beautiful. His life took him in so many directions. He loved people, and people loved him. He always wanted to help others,” the obituary reads.

The Fort Worth Homicide Unit is requesting information from anyone who may know about the death of Head. Anyone who has information is asked to call 817-392-4828. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).
