Dallas rapper Yella Beezy out on bail after bond reduced in capital murder case
A Dallas rapper arrested last week in a capital murder for hire case has been released on bond, according to jail records.
Markies Conway, known by his stage name Yella Beezy, posted the $750,000 bond on Friday morning, WFAA-TV reported. The bond had previously been set at $2 million, but was reduced after a hearing on Thursday, March 27.
Conway, 33, is accused of paying Kewon White for the 2020 killing of rival rapper Melvin Noble, who was known by the stage name Mo3, the Star-Telegram previously reported. White was sentenced in 2022 to 105 months in federal prison on a gun crime.
The conditions of Conway’s bond include a ban on direct or indirect contact with witnesses, victims and co-defendants in the case.
At the bond hearing, which included testimony from Conway’s grandmother, prosecutors played a video of the shooting, which took place on Interstate 35E in Dallas, WFAA reported.
“It’s pretty egregious to watch that video.,” Judge Gracie Lewis said at the hearing. “But the court also took into consideration the evidence or lack of evidence the state presented.”
