An Arlington teenager was injured by a stray bullet in a shooting at an Arlington apartment complex early Monday, police said.

Officers responded to the complex in the 3700 block of Trailwood Court — in east Arlington north of Interstate 20, about 2:15 a.m. on Monday, March 10, police said in a news release.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the parking lot and saw a bullet hole in an apartment window.

People inside the apartment told investigators that a teenage girl was in her bedroom at the time of the shooting and she was hit in the arm by a stray bullet, police said.

The girl was taken to the hospital by a family member and her injuries were not life-threatening, according to the release.

Investigators believe two unknown groups exchanged gunfire in the apartment complex’s parking lot and that neither the girl nor anyone inside the apartment was targeted, police said.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made, according to the statement.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Arlington police Detective Juarez at 817-459-8609 or Tarrant County CrimeStoppers at 817-469-8477.
