43-year-old victim identified, suspect arrested in fatal Fort Worth shooting, police say

Fort Worth police arrested a suspect after a man was shot and killed during an argument.

Sheldon Johnson, 53, was arrested and booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Sunday, March 2. Johnson faces a murder charge, according to jail records.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Sean Tarron Allen.

Fort Worth police responded to the the 2200 block of East Lancaster on Thursday, Feb. 27. A 911 caller reported that a man was shot near East Lancaster and Bomar avenues, near downtown, about 5:40 p.m.

Officers found Allen with a gunshot wound to his upper body and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Homicide detectives learned that Allen had been involved in an argument with the suspect, who left the scene before officers arrived, police said in a news release on Friday.

Johnson was arrested at his home in Haltom City without incident by the Fort Worth police fugitive unit, police said.

Johnson’s bond is set at $300,000, according to court records.
