Woman shot by ex when trying to leave house with new boyfriend, Fort Worth police say

A woman was injured Friday morning after being shot by her ex-boyfriend in south Fort Worth, and a suspect is in custody, police said.

Officers responded to the 2100 block of Deniro Drive shortly before 8 a.m.

They learned that the victim had been getting ready to leave the house with her new boyfriend when her ex-boyfriend arrived. The ex-boyfriend fired several shots at the vehicle the woman was in, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to officials.

Twenty-four-year-old Jerrod Moore was arrested and booked into the Fort Worth City Jail. He faces two charges of aggravated assault against a date/family/house with a weapon and one charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to police records.
