White Settlement police arrested a suspect after a man was found shot in the parking lot of a motel early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called shortly after midnight on Feb. 5 to a motel in the 600 block of N. Jim Wright Freeway, police said in a news release.

Officers apprehended the suspected shooter and also detained another person in connection to the incident, police said.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital.

Police have not released the name of the suspect.

“The investigation is in its preliminary stages and detectives are on scene trying to figure out what led to the shooting,” police said in the release.

Officers from Sansom Park, Lakeside, Westworth Village, Fort Worth and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to assist White Settlement police.
