Man shot at Euless apartment complex was killed over vape cartridges, court documents say
The 20-year-old suspect in a shooting that killed a man at an apartment complex in Euless was trying to steal the victim’s vape cartridges, court documents state.
Reynaldo Marcos Silva was arrested Dec. 17 in connection with the fatal shooting. He faces a capital murder charge, according to jail records.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of Fuller Wiser Road around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 10. They found 22-year-old Alexander Antonio Borras with gunshot wounds, police said. Borras died around two hours later in the operating room at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Grapevine.
According to Silva’s arrest warrant affidavit, two women said they saw a man wearing a hoodie near the crime scene. One of them looked out her apartment window after hearing a gun shot and got a good look at the man’s face.
Investigators found a .40 caliber Glock magazine, THC vape cartridge, marijuana cigarette and cash at the scene of the shooting. They found more cash, a spent .40 caliber shell casing and additional THC cartridges near the park located east of the apartment complex, according to the affidavit.
Borras’s sister confirmed to investigators that her brother was a drug dealer, the affidavit states. She believed he was robbed and shot while making a sale. She saw a man running from the area after the shooting, and the direction he ran was where detectives later found the cash, shell casing and THC cartridges.
A police canine also found a cell phone laying on the ground in the same area. The last communication on the phone was an Instagram direct message between Borras and someone with the username “glokk.silva” and the vanity name of Rey.
The conversation indicated Borras was waiting for someone who had arranged to meet him. Glokk.silva asked Borras “What flavor dispos you got” and said he would be there in around 30 minutes, according to the affidavit. He said “here” around 4:28 p.m., which was close to the time Borras was shot.
Investigators found Faceboook accounts with a profile picture that matched the description from witnesses and with links to the glokk.silva Instagram account.
The most recent address for Reynaldo Marcos Silva was around two blocks from where Borras was killed.
Silva is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to court records.
