Plano police have arrested a woman in connection with a Dec. 10 hit-and-run that injured a child, according to a statement from the department.

Richardson resident Zulma Beltran, 49, allegedly hit a child crossing the street and then drove off, police said.

Video posted on social media shows the moment a car strikes the young girl, throwing her several feet, then drives off, police said.

The girl had been walking to school and was not seriously injured, her family told KDFW-TV at the time of the incident.

The community assisted with the investigation by identifying Beltran and her vehicle, police said.

Beltran faces a felony charge of collision involving personal injury and is being held in the Plano city jail, police said.
