Suspected drunken driver kills woman early Sunday on I-35W in Fort Worth, police say

A woman died and a suspected drunken driver was arrested after a crash on Interstate 35W early Sunday in Fort Worth, officials with the Fort Worth Police Department said.

Officers were dispatched about 2 a.m. to the scene of a major accident in the 100 block of South Freeway, near Rosedale Street, and found that a vehicle had struck the victim, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, police said. A police report identified her as 32-year-old Marisol Tinoco-Carillo.

The driver of the vehicle, identified in online jail records as 20-year-old Jose Aviles, of Fort Worth, was arrested and faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. A sample of his blood was taken to be tested for alcohol, according to the police report.
