17-year-old faces murder charge in May 2023 fatal shooting of Fort Worth teen

A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with the May 2023 shooting death of a Fort Worth teen.

Kelvin Thompson, 17, was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Wednesday, Oct. 30. He faces a murder charge, according to jail records.

Xavier Hullaby, 15, was fatally shot in the breezeway at an apartment complex in the 7900 block of Joshua Drive on May 29, 2023. He died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Three other suspects — Dwayne Gould, Tyron Quinn and Tedarius McGruder — were previously arrested in connection with the homicide.

Gould, who was 18 at the time, was indicted on a murder charge on Nov. 29, 2023. He’s currently being held in the Tarrant County Jail on $175,000 bond, court records state.

Quinn, who was 20 at the time of Hullaby’s killing, was also indicted on Nov. 29, 2023. He’s in the Tarrant County Jail with bond set a $1 million.

McGruder, who was 21 at the time of the fatal shooting, was indicted on murder on May 9, 2024. He’s being held in the Tarrant County Jail on $1 million bond, according to court records.
