61-year-old shot in back during argument with family member, Fort Worth police say

A 61-year-old man was shot and injured Wednesday night while arguing with a family member, Fort Worth police said.

Officers were dispatched to the Primavera Apartments at 2201 E. Berry St. shortly before 11 p.m. regarding a shooting call. The victim told police he was arguing with his nephew when his nephew’s girlfriend shot him in the back, officials said. The suspect and nephew fled the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment. His injuries aren’t life-threatening, according to police.

The Gun Violence Unit will investigate the shooting. No suspects are in custody, police said.
