A man who was barricaded in a house is in custody after a standoff Tuesday with Fort Worth police and SWAT officers in the west part of the city, officials said.

Nearly 60 police and SWAT units responded to a home in the 4900 block of Lyndon Drive after a 911 caller reported receiving a text from a friend saying he was going to “kick in the back door,” according to the 911 call sheet.

The initial call came in around 9:50 a.m. The resident was not home at the time, according to the call log.

SWAT teams and officers with the Crisis Intervention Team were dispatched to the scene starting around 11 a.m.

A Fort Worth police spokesperson said shortly before 1:30 p.m. that the suspect was in custody. No shots were fired during the standoff, and no one was injured, according to the spokesperson.
