A medical assistant formerly employed by a North Texas pediatrics practice is accused of sexually abusing multiple children during their medical examinations, according to Irving police.

The suspect, 25-year-old Angel Nunez, worked at offices of Little Spurs Pediatrics in Fort Worth, Irving, Grand Prairie and Arlington between August 2023 and August 2024, Irving police said in a news release on Thursday.

Police investigators were first made aware of the allegations in late August, when they received a report of abuse that occurred at the Little Spurs Pediatrics location in Irving.

The investigation found that Nunez “had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple juvenile patients on separate occasions,” police said in the release. “These patients believed they were receiving a medical exam and were not aware at the time that they were being abused.”

As soon as the clinic became aware “that an employee conducted a medical procedure beyond their scope of practice and outside of our established guidelines,” management promptly contacted Child Protective Services, began an internal investigation, and terminated Nunez’s employment, according to a statement from Little Spurs.

“At Little Spurs, we adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all staff conduct aligns with our core values and policies,” the spokesperson said.

Nunez was arrested on Sept. 5 on a charge of indecency with a child. He was released from the Dallas County Jail on $100,000 bond on Sept. 7.

Irving police said that Little Spurs Pediatrics has been fully cooperative during the investigation.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have interacted with Nunez to discuss this with their children, family members and friends.
