A man is in custody after Fort Worth police spotted a stolen daycare bus and pursued it into a nearby city Monday afternoon, officials said.

Arlington police said officers responded to a daycare in the 2300 block of SE Green Oaks Boulevard around 12:40 p.m. Saturday after the owner reported one of the business’ small buses had been stolen.

No suspect information was available, police said, but officers took a report about the stolen vehicle and entered the information into a national law enforcement database. Fort Worth police located the bus Monday afternoon.

The driver refused to stop, and Fort Worth police officers pursued the vehicle into Grand Prairie, officials said. No children were on the bus. The suspect was arrested without incident in the 5200 block of Silver Trail in Grand Prairie.

Police records identify the suspect as 40-year-old Ronnie Malone. He was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Monday afternoon. He faces one charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one charge of evading arrest/detention with previous conviction.

Another suspect was taken into custody in connection with the incident and later released, police said.
