Fort Worth police arrested a 25-year-old driver Sunday in connection with a Saturday night hit-and-run crash that killed a man on Jacksboro Highway.

A police report identifies the suspect as Jose Ramirez Olmedo. He faces a felony charge of accident involving death. He was booked into the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $20,000.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Arturo Infante.

The accident was reported about 9:20 p.m. Saturday, when officers were called to the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway, police said in a news release.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Ramirez Olmedo’s vehicle collided with the victim’s vehicle, police said. Infante was ejected from his car.

The suspect left the scene on foot before officers arrived, police said. He was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the police report.

Infante was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating what led to the crash.
