Police are investigating a shooting that wounded a man Wednesday afternoon in east Fort Worth, officials said.

Officers responded to the 5400 block of Berry Street shortly after 1 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that a man with a gunshot wound in the leg had shown up at the Buttercup Place Apartments, police said.

The suspect left the scene, but the Real Time Crime Center located a similar looking individual, police said. Officers were going to investigate further.

The Gang and Gun Violence units were notified about the incident.
