Police investigate south Fort Worth shooting that killed 41-year-old man early Tuesday

A 41-year-old man was fatally shot in a homicide in south Fort Worth early Tuesday, officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Hemphill Street around 1:50 a.m. after a 911 caller reported her friend had been shot, according to police records.

When they arrived, officers found the victim with apparent gunshot wounds in an alley in the 600 block of Anthony Street, Fort Worth police said in a news release.

The victim died at the scene, according to a MedStar spokesperson. A police report identified the victim as Edward Rodriguez.

The location of the shooting was near an encampment for people experiencing homelessness.

Homicide detectives are investigating what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
