Two suspects in the killing of a man outside a North Texas grocery store were arrested Sunday in Kansas, police said.

Eric Martiz Hill Jr., 30, was shot to death on Thursday night in the parking lot of an Aldi store at 3173 Denton Highway in Haltom City.

Haltom City police asked for the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to help find and apprehend a man and a woman identified as suspects, 23-year-old Eli Gaibeth Martinez Sanchez and 24-year-old Deja Shanta Burt Roberts.

After learning that the murder suspects might be out of state, Haltom City homicide detectives traveled to Kansas, police said in a news release. Coordination with local authorities led to the arrests of Roberts and Martinez Sanchez in Wellington, Kansas.

The suspects were being held Sunday on $100,000 bond on murder charges and were being interviewed by Haltom City detectives.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but police have said they believe the suspects knew the victim.
