25-year-old woman accused of killing her mother and grandmother in Tarrant County
A 25-year-old Tarrant County woman is accused of shooting and killing her mother and grandmother the day before Thanksgiving at a home in the Rendon area.
Family members and the medical examiner’s office identified the victims as the suspect’s mother, 60-year-old Shari Bailey, and grandmother, 84-year-old Bertha Bailey.
“I can hardly breathe let alone believe that these two blessed ladies were taken from us today,” one family member wrote on Facebook. “Two of the kindest souls I know. Family was number one for them. Love you forever Bertha Bailey. And Shari Bailey.”
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday asked the public for help to find the suspect, Kaitlyn Marie Bailey. In an update Friday evening, authorities said Bailey had been arrested but did not release further details.
The killings happened early Wednesday morning in the 3900 block of Joalene Court, which public records list as Shari Bailey’s address. Both victims died from multiple gunshot wounds after they were taken to hospitals, according to the medical examiner.
Kaitlyn Bailey is being held on $200,000 bond on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Tarrant County Jail records.
The sheriff’s office has not released further details about the homicides.
Officials said Kaitlyn Bailey was believed to be dangerous and armed with a handgun. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office at 817-884-1213.
According to Tarrant County court records, Kaitlyn Bailey has a record of domestic violence, which includes pleading guilty to choking her mother in 2021. She also pleaded guilty to assaulting another relative in 2016.
