Man dies after being shot inside a car in northwest Fort Worth, authorities say

A man died at a hospital after he was shot Wednesday inside of a car in northwest Fort Worth, authorities said.

Three people were in the stolen car when one of the passengers shot the victim, who was also in the car, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jesus Hernandez, 31, of Fort Worth.

Hernandez was shot about 9:30 a.m. at North Harding and NE 36th streets. He was taken to a hospital, according to a spokesperson for MedStar, the region’s ambulance service.

Hernandez died about 1:20 p.m. at John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

Police did not announce an arrest in the homicide.
