Dallas police have issued a warrant for a 25-year-old suspect accused of fatally injuring a man during an argument, officials said.

Officers responded to the 8500 block of Old Hickory Trail, in the Red Bird area, around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. They found 23-year-old Anthony Carmichael in critical condition.

After an investigation, police determined that Carmichael had been choked during an argument with someone. The suspect left the scene, police said.

Anthony Carmichael was taken to a local hospital and died Saturday from his injuries. A warrant was issued for Jacob Carmichael, who faces a charge of murder, police said in a news release Tuesday.

Police did not say whether the two men are related.

The investigation is ongoing, officials said, and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Frank Serra at 214-671-4320 or frank.serra@dallaspolice.gov.
