A person who was walking early Sunday in south Fort Worth was shot by an assailant firing from a vehicle, police said.

The victim was shot about 12:15 a.m. as they walked along the 4100 block of Sycamore School Road. A Fort Worth police spokesperson did not say whether the person who was shot is male or female or release their age.

The victim was shot twice and was taken in critical condition to a hospital.

The assailant left the scene in the vehicle. Police did not announce an arrest.
