A 25-year-old suspect has been identified in connection with the shooting at a Dallas gun range Friday evening that left a 24-year-old dead and the suspect in critical condition, officials said Thursday.

Austin Tran has been charged with murder, police said. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as John “Trey” Shaunfield, according to KDFW-TV.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of West Mockingbird Lane around 5:20 p.m. A man entered the business and shot another man before turning the gun on himself, according to police. The victim died, and the suspect was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police confirmed to KXAS-TV that the shooting took place inside the DFW Gun Range and Academy.

The investigation is ongoing, officials said. Authorities have not given a motive for the shooting. Tran was in critical condition Saturday, police said, and his condition Thursday wasn’t clear.
