Man stabbed to death in west Fort Worth apartment; suspect arrested on murder suspicion

A man was stabbed to death early Sunday inside an apartment in west Fort Worth, police said.

Juan Mosquera-Leen stabbed the victim, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 27-year-old Jose Salas-Hernandez, during an altercation in the 8300 block of Porche Drive, Fort Worth police said.

Police arrested Mosquera-Leen, 23, on suspicion of murder. He was booked Sunday at midday.

The victim was stabbed in his upper body and pronounced dead inside the apartment, police said. A person reported the stabbing to authorities about 5:30 a.m. Police detained at the scene a person of interest; they did not make clear if that person is Mosquera-Leen.

Police did not describe the altercation in detail.
