Man shot, injured, while watching fireworks in south Fort Worth, police say

A man told police he was shot in the abdomen while watching fireworks in south Fort Worth on Tuesday night, officials say.

A man was shot while watching fireworks Tuesday night in south Fort Worth, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a local hospital shortly before 11 p.m. regarding a shooting victim. The man told police he had been watching fireworks near the intersection of Martin Street and Miller Avenue when he heard gunfire. He ran from the scene but later discovered a bullet had hit him on the left side of his abdomen, police said.

The victim was elusive about the details surrounding the shooting, according to police. He was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. It’s not clear how severely he was injured.

The Gun Violence Unit will help investigate the shooting, officials said.
