Fort Worth police are investigating two killings over the weekend.

Ricardo Rojas, 35, was shot early Sunday near East First and Beach streets. His death was caused by gunshot wounds in the torso and left lower leg, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Rojas died at John Peter Smith Hospital about 12:45 a.m., close to 45 minutes after he was shot.

Fort Worth police released no other details.

Early Saturday, Deamarcus Darnell, 24, was shot inside his apartment in the 3800 block of Great Oak Road, according to the medical examiner. Officers found him at the Tides on Post Oak apartments with gunshot wounds to his torso and leg, police records show.

Darnell told police an assailant entered his apartment and shot him around 4 a.m. He died at John Peter Smith Hospital nine hours later.

Police have not announced arrests in either killing.
