Fort Worth police are investigating an apparent road rage incident that led to gun violence early Friday near Southwest Loop 820, officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Southwest Loop 820 around 12:15 a.m. regarding a shooting, police said. A man told them he was driving on Southwest Boulevard near Eastbound Southwest Loop 820 when some sort of incident or exchange took place between himself and the driver of another vehicle.

Near the intersection of Loop 820 and Granbury Road, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired, hitting the back and passenger compartment of the victim’s vehicle, he told police.

The victim was not injured, according to police, and the other driver fled the scene of the shooting. The Gun Violence Unit will investigate the incident.
