40-year-old man fatally shot in southwest Dallas during argument, police say

A 40-year-old man was fatally shot in southwest Dallas on Tuesday night during an argument, police said.

Officers responded to the 2500 block of Perryton Drive around 9:20 p.m. regarding a shooting call. The victim, Geoffrey Jones, had been arguing with the shooter, police said in a news release. The argument turned violent when the suspect shot Jones and left the scene, police said.

Jones died at a local hospital from his injuries, officials said. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chad Murphy at 214-283-4934 or chad.murphy@dallascityhall.com.
