12-year-old boy fatally shot at east Fort Worth shopping center, police say

A child was killed in a shooting Monday night in east Fort Worth, police said.

Officers were dispatched to Cook Children’s Medical Center around 10:20 p.m. regarding a shooting victim.

A 12-year-old boy had arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle and was pronounced dead there, officials said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Treyshawn Eunes.

Multiple units were dispatched to the 5500 block of Brentwood Stair Road when homicide detectives learned the boy was shot in a building at that location, police said. According to the medical examiner’s records, the address where the shooting occurred is a shopping center at 5504 Brentwood Stair Road.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, officials said. No arrests have been announced.
