Son arrested in June 5 fatal shooting of father in Fort Worth apartment, police say
Homicide detectives have arrested a 25-year-old man in the June 5 killing of his father at the 61-year-old man’s southwest Fort Worth apartment.
Trevor Hicks was on Friday booked by Fort Worth police on suspicion of murder in the fatal shooting of John Hicks, police said.
John Hicks was slain the Cortland Chisholm Trail Apartments in the 9100 block of Summit Oxbow Road, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Trevor Hicks’ mother reported to police that her son called her and said he had found his father with gunshot wounds inside the father’s apartment, according to a police call log.
Police did not describe what they allege motivated the killing and did not release the affidavit supporting the arrest warrant for Trevor Hicks.
The medical examiner’s office concluded that John Hicks’ death was caused by multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the apartment floor.
Trevor Hicks was in a Tarrant County jail on Wednesday with bond set at $150,000, jail records showed.
