A 16-year-old boy stabbed two men during an altercation early on Thursday in northwest Tarrant County, authorities said.

The victims were slashed about 12:15 a.m. in the 6600 block of Peden Road near Eagle Mountain Lake. The teenage suspect was at the scene when deputies arrived, said Robbie Hoy, a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

The victims’ injuries are life-threatening, and they were taken to a hospital, Hoy said.

Hoy did not describe the circumstances of the altercation and declined to release a description of the victims’ location when they were stabbed.

The suspect was held at the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center until Friday, when at a detention hearing Judge Alex Kim, who presides in 323rd District Court in Tarrant County, ordered his release.
