Police have arrested a teenager who they allege shot dead a security guard when the guard confronted the suspect as he broke into a car in Dallas.

Antwon Osborne, 17, was arrested on May 23 on suspicion of murder, Dallas police said on Wednesday.

Osborne shot the guard, Adalberto Santiago, on May 19 at a parking garage at Preston Center Plaza shopping center in the 8200 block of Westchester Drive, near University Park, police said.

Osborne drove from the scene, and police said they found the suspect’s car in a parking lot in the 2200 block of North Cockrell Hill Road about 90 minutes after the shooting.

Santiago, who was 34, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Osborne was arrested in Nevada and authorities are in the process of extraditing him to Texas, KDFW-TV reported.
