Man killed in domestic shooting outside Arlington restaurant; 2 women arrested, police say
Two women have been arrested after a man was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in a restaurant parking lot on West Division Street in Arlington, according to police.
Officers responded about 4:45 p.m. to the parking lot of Lisa’s Chicken at 1601 W. Division. They found a man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Tyrone Darling Jr., 30.
Based on their investigation, police believe the shooting was the result of domestic violence.
Witnesses told officers that Darling’s ex, 29-year-old Tamyiah Williams, went to the restaurant parking lot to pick up the child she shares with the victim. During the exchange, they got into an argument.
A short time later, surveillance cameras captured 23-year-old Chanel Sherrod, who drove Williams to the restaurant, getting out of her vehicle and getting into a physical fight with Darling, police said.
While the two of them were fighting, Williams is seen on the video holding a handgun and then shooting Darling, police said. Williams and Sherrod got back in the vehicle and drove away, according to the video.
Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both women. Late Monday night, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force found them in Arlington and took them into custody without incident, police said.
Williams and Sherrod were booked into the Arlington City Jail and both face a charge of murder, police said.
The child was unharmed and is being cared for by other family members.
