Two injured when single-engine plane crashes on Carrollton road, police say

Two people onboard a single-engine plane were transported to a hospital after the plane crashed Monday night in Carrollton, according to Carrollton police.

Details of their injuries weren’t immediately known. No one on the ground was injured, according to police.

The plane crashed on East Hebron Parkway about 8:05 p.m., police wrote in a Facebook post.

The highway is closed between Marsh Ridge and Arbor Creek, and police asked residents to avoid the area.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that the Mooney M20 departed from Abilene Regional Airport and crashed on its way to Addison Airport, which is about two miles away from the crash site.

The plane was registered in Farmers Branch.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
