A man was shot to death in east Fort Worth early Thursday morning and the shooter is still at large, police said.

According to the police call log, someone called 911 about 8:30 a.m. to report a man lying on the ground in the 3700 block of Paradise Hills Drive. The caller thought he might be dead.

Police spokesperson Buddy Calzada said the victim was dead from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body when officers arrived.

According to Calzada, detectives learned the victim had been involved in an argument around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex before shots were fired. The unidentified shooter left the scene after the killing.

The victim was later identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 30-year-old Brian James Pringle.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case, Calzada said.

This is the 94th homicide investigated by Fort Worth police this year, which is 10 fewer than last year at this time.

A 19-year-old woman was also shot to death in the 3700 block of Paradise Hills Drive on Nov. 5.
