Fort Worth man faces assault charge in shooting of a relative in North Richland Hills

A 34-year-old Fort Worth man accused of shooting a relative Saturday night in North Richland Hills faces a charge of aggravated assault, police said.

Authorities on Monday identified the suspect as 34-year-old Troy Williams. He is being held in the North Richland Hills Detention Facility in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Williams is expected to be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police believe Williams shot a 31-year-old male relative during some sort of family disturbance. Authorities did not release any information on a motive. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

North Richland Hills police responded to the shooting call just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 8000 block of Harwood Road. Williams was arrested Williams that night.
