Medical examiner identifies man shot to death outside east Fort Worth bar Monday

A man shot at El Corral Bar in east Fort Worth on Monday morning later died and has been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 41-year-old Luis Alberto Laureano-Perez.

Fort Worth police responded to the bar, at 317 Collard St., around 1:10 a.m. after reports of a shooting, they said Monday.

Officers found Laureano-Perez there with multiple gunshot wounds and he was taken in critical condition to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died in the trauma ICU.

The medical examiner’s office listed the death as a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

According to a police report, a suspect, Arlen Moises Portillo-Lopez, 31, of Fort Worth, was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jails records on Tuesday indicated he now faces a murder charge.
