Wrong-way driver charged with intoxication manslaughter in death of Dallas police officer
Authorities have charged the wrong-way driver in a crash that caused the death of Dallas police Officer Jacob Arellano with intoxication manslaughter, officials said Friday.
Mayra Rebollar, 31, has been identified as the driver of the sedan that collided head-on with Arellano’s SUV on northbound Spur 408 late Tuesday night, when the officer was on his way to work.
The collision pushed Arellano’s vehicle into the right lane, where it was struck by a tractor-trailer and then rolled over, police said. Arellano, 25, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died Wednesday.
Rebollar was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police said on Friday that she is still hospitalized and hasn’t been arraigned yet.
