Gunman opens fire at gathering in Fort Worth apartment, kills one man in shooting
An investigation continued Wednesday into the shooting death of a man at an apartment complex on Western Center Boulevard, Fort Worth police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the killing of the man on Sept. 15 in the 1800 block of Western Center Boulevard in far north Fort Worth.
The name of the victim had not been released by authorities as of Wednesday.
Several people fled the scene after the shooting, police said.
Patrol officers responded to the shooting call at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 at an apartment complex.
Once they arrived, police found the victim. Medical personnel also arrived and attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives discovered that there was a gathering at an apartment when an unknown suspect brandished a handgun and fired at least once, striking the victim.
No other injuries were reported.
Fort Worth police did not release any information on a motive for the shooting.
