Fort Worth police investigating two shootings from early hours Saturday morning

Authorities in Fort Worth responded to two shootings in the wee hours of Saturday morning, including one that could be a homicide or a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

One person was shot in the area of Hemphill Street and West Pafford Street around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, according to police. Officers arrived at the scene and found a victim with a single gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was alert and responsive, according to police.

The other shooting, around 2:36 p.m. Saturday, resulted in one person dead in the 1000 block of East Baltimore Street, according to police. Detectives are investigating the shooting, including the possibility that it was self-inflicted.

Police said a witness told investigators the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, but homicide detectives are still looking into what happened.

Police have not released any other information on what happened at either of the shootings.
